PostSubject: The Post Jump   Tue Jul 29, 2008 1:01 pm

Ok so i don't know if this really requires an upcoming topic, but i've been working on an animation involving a character jump from one post to another, it s a common animation exercise.

It's going alright so far and i've completed the first pass, but it needs some touching up on the hips, Also the back leg is unfinished.

P.S.

I don't know if its just my computer but photobucket has duplicated the guy jumping in a faded light blue on my screen :\..... , so if you also get that, thats just a glitch with photobucket, It does not have anything to do with the animation

Jump is wrong, movements were right.

Like I said on steam, put more of an arc into it.

To be fair scruffy, its not a huge anticipated jump, its just a leap, but ok ill edit it soon.

EDIT: Ok so i edited it and made the jump more into an Arc

Its more like a leap, then a jump.
Also, I don't like his ending pose.

Keep it up.

As i said before, the landing is unfinished and yeah its more of a leap on a hop than an actual jump, ill continue it, Also a render Preview, I decided to add a background on a temp image plane and turn the character into a type of Ninja :L, Although it looks kind of retarded.

looks better.

I've figured it out:
1) If he's trotting casually, more arc.
2) If he's speedily trying to jump his way across, less arc.

Looks fine, but the sky doesn't blend in with the cylinders. (or reflect the colors)

it'd be pretty cool if the cylinders were like, glass, and refracted whatever was behind it, and he was jumping across them.
