I think I only showed Garrett this, but this is amazing. It's animated in Flash and another 3D program. “All of the character animation was done in Flash. The characters were sketched and scanned in Photoshop, then copied into Flash and dismembered into hundreds of tiny pieces to allow for complicated movement, while the backgrounds were Photoshop that were exposed to after-effects, and then the whole film was given a thick layer of after-effects. And there was a little bit of 3-D (CGI).” It's a true story about the director repiecing his memory of the Lebanon war back. http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony/waltzwithbashir/Watch it in HD. That first scene with the dog is breathtaking. It's coming out in Christmas in the US _________________

I've seen quite a few foreign animated movies lately, and they're always really cool. I'm definitely renting/buying this when it's released.

i managed to watch this the other day, the animation is ace without a doubt and you wont be let down or disappointed, although i felt the movie itself was not as strong as the animation. it was nice to see even some minor soft spots in the movie where you could tell it was pulled out of flash. some sequences were breathtaking, and since we've all touched flash animation here this is definetely something to see.

Oh ya I've seen this a while ago. I thought they did a near perfect with animation (Besides the 3D missle part, I thought that could have been done better and a few occasional joint wierdness) considering they used on of the most basic programs to animate, and I would have never guessed it was made in Flash. I loved how the graphic style shifted with every flashback too. Story wise, it was powerful but I actually wanted an intense war scene but sadly it never happend. Still though, each individual he interviewed was well polished. _________________

i was honestly hoping for the same thing too. the scene where one soldier waltzes amidst the shooting was great but didnt feel like enough. |
