band of brothers to those who've seen it is comparable to a 10hour long saving private ryan. thankfully it turns out spielbergs' been working on a project called the pacific, which is pretty much like band of brothers except based on a company fighting on the pacific front.

I'm especially happy at the fact that it takes place on the Pacific theatre, mainly because most of the WWII media I'm exposed to takes place in Europe.

the pacific covers the invasion of the phillipines and the battle of okinawa which are two of the biggest offensives in WWII, and neither of them have been made into popular movies either.
